Being proactive during the coronavirus isolation stage

Bring proactive during the coronavirus isolation stage

Now, I have been thinking about this long and hard. My own business ran to a halt last week when the US businesses and schools closed their doors, so I have been preparing for our upcoming lock down since then. My business is not going to fold or go bust during this time, it will just go a little bit dormant until advertising spends are put back in place. I am happy to sit this out, and build my business in preparation behind the scenes until we come out the other side.

But, I am also looking at this period of time positively, and as a way to learn new skills, such as making videos (for YouTube and IGTV), and dabbling with a bit of design. So, I have signed up for a two month free trial with Skillshare.

Skillshare is an online learning community with thousands of classes for creative and curious people, on topics including illustration, design, photography, video, freelancing, and more. On Skillshare, millions of members come together to find inspiration and take the next step in their creative journey.

I signed up last week and have already watched videos on stop-motion videos, iphone filmmaking, creating a successful YouTube channel and finding Instagram success. All videos have been valuable to watch as I have taken what I need from them to learn something new. And, best of all, you can watch, and learn, at your own speed and leisure.

What better way to survive a city lock-down than working on self development.
